Stichting Present – Building a brighter tomorrow!

NEDCON is proud to have entered into a valuable partnership with the volunteer organization Stichting Present. We enjoy contributing to creating a positive social impact in the region in which we operate.

Annually, we will select several voluntary projects in which our employees will make an effort to help with local initiatives. Our employees share their time, skills and energy to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We believe that each project we support contributes to building a stronger and more cohesive society.

Project 1: Renovating a house in Gaanderen

January 18, 2024

With a team of 9 colleagues we went to work in Gaanderen at the house of a family from Eritrea. The eldest daughter fled to the Netherlands eight years ago. Now, after a long wait, her parents, brother and sister have also received a residence permit as part of family reunification. They have no network here, insufficient money and no experience with odd jobs. Adjusting to the vastly different culture they now find themselves in remains a challenging task, requiring effort to get everything in order.

During this project we helped with various tasks, including:

• Painting the walls.
• Plugging holes.
• Putting together new cabinets.
• Hanging lamps.
• Mounting stair gates.
• Hanging a coat rack and shower curtain.

In between, we had homemade Eritrean pancakes and coffee. It has been a day where we completed numerous tasks and received a lot of gratitude from the family. All in all, a valuable day!
